It's all a bit rich, isn't it? I mean theMetropolitan could use different tactics to achieve the same end. Let's hope he softens his approach a little more.
Maxim's co believers.

Siil, it's not Stalin's faith it's yours and mine. You have none, but I'll share what I have and hopefully some will rub off onto you. Here is an example of smokescreen Orthodoxy that undermines the faith, and uses it as a vehicle for promoting one's one ends. If that is the case, then it doesn't vary much from the kind of tactics on which you tend to fall back.
A church that worked together with the Soviet government and NKVD/KGB did not have saving souls as its mission.
Rather it was just another tool used by the Soviets in the suppression of its people.
Under Putin, has the church been able to establish itself free from government control ?

I wonder if Maxim will ever stop barking at us about converting to this Church?
It's not my church. But since you seem to know so little about Churches and confessions, then all the better that I can steer you gently in the right direction. EAÕK has a lot going for it, otherwise I wouldn't be promoting their cause. Once you join you'll see what I mean.
Maxim, do you make a distinction between the Moscow and Constantinople patriarchies? Is it not true that Aleksius' followers firmly support Putin's promotion of a dictatorship with all its inherent repressions domestically and his yearn for Russian hegemony in at least the former Soviet Bloc internationally?
After you've done some more homework on the subject, you'll understand that Cornelius is a far different cut of cloth than Aleksius. Cornelius was also born in Estonia, but unlike Aleksius, says and does the right things. He calmed Estonian Russian youth just last week by telling them they must respect Estonian culture and values. What do you have against that? Also, unlike Aleksius, Cornelius' relatives were captured and sent to Siberia. If you knew what you were talking about, there wouldn't be this unnecessary exchange of postings. As it is, you know nothing about the Orthodox church, but at least I'm willing to teach you as much as you are capable of comprehending.
