Publishing this link is a new low for EE.
*16 Nov 2007 18:59
why ?
Maxim.17 Nov 2007 06:58
The opponents of this published article are attempting to do a massive cover-up campaign about the worrisome aspects of US Liberty. This is one of those aspects bearing ugly fruit, and there is likely more to come. The US constitution is far from free, even though a lot of people have made the best of its limits. That's welcome! However, as the pressure rises to come to terms with the cons' limitations of political freedom, it would do us good to record these incidents and write to our local reps to see if we can have these clauses made more in the interests of individual freedom, before it is too late.

Thanks for your insight, Maxim.

its not hot air ... its time for a change, and the fresh air that Ron Paul is bringing to the us political scene

Your vanity would force you to question anything and everything-except your own perfect existence! As long as everything is fine for you, the rest of the world can go to hell. I've seen this kind of attitude before, both in others in Toronto and from you as well. When in refusal mode, question to the hilt.

Looks like Maxim gets mad if somebody points to the obvious -- that his message is just empty words with no content
Anonymous18 Nov 2007 09:49
The chief editor of Eesti Elu is well-known to us as a level-headed, rigorous thinker with a powerful ability to express her ideas.

Yet, with her in charge, we still see the occasional article appear that has obviously been composed by a kook. What's more, it has nothing to do with Estonian affairs, not even remotely. It's embarrassing to read this stuff.

How does this get into the paper?
Anonymous18 Nov 2007 09:53
I wholehaeartedly agree BUT, she unfortunately is not the editor of online edition.
Perhaps EE could find a real journalist to run this site.
to anonymous ...18 Nov 2007 11:55
believe it or not ... what happens in the us impacts both eesti and canada, and if the current trend to increased government control in the us continues, your head in the sand only makes your backside more vulnerable

what is most disturbing is that there are so many narrow minded readers on this site who become visibly unglued, (revealing their inner selves), as soon as a perspective outside of their narrow acceptable thought range is expressed
Maximus18 Nov 2007 12:32
Not only is it disturbing that EE posts crazy links like this (Ron Paul dollars, seriously?) one has to wonder about the quality of journalism when all EE is doing is posting a link. This is suppose to be a newspaper, posting a story that consists solely of a link and nothing else has no value. I would love to see some editorial comment from the poster of this link rather than a blind posting.
to maximus18 Nov 2007 12:47
some people are ahead of the curve, some are behind it ... from my perspective you are behind it,
witness use of your moniker after maxim
Maximus18 Nov 2007 13:19
Perhaps you can elaborate on how you feel I'm behind the curve? Asking for more than posting links is behind the curve? Do you see the NYTimes, Washington Post or Globe & Mail simply post links to other articles on their pages with a comment?
Sherlock18 Nov 2007 15:35
I agree with your latest comments. It is one thing to cut/paste a story but to post just a link is providing a channel for these extremist view points. It implies that EE is supporting and advertising these unpopular view points. If EE wants to become known as an extremist web site then go right ahead. Erasing comments has also become a more frequent occurrence and I don't mean Adele's. It appears the paper is trying to protect old friends.
to S & M19 Nov 2007 17:24
Most major newspapers do pick up articles from other sources on a regular basis without any editorial comment.

Behind the curve means you are late to catch onto the Ron Paul grassroots movement in the US. This is the most profound political movement in the US this century.

To label this unpopular and extremist, is a bit premature, but yes it definitely goes against your sensibilities, if you support GWB's policies.
Sherlock19 Nov 2007 18:49
You are right about articles but a link is quite different. I am sorry if you don't see the difference. For some it takes a little time to sink in specially someone not familiar with the internet. For the this century bit , it is a little over 7 years old according to my calendar. The link is to Alex Jones web page not to Ron Pauls. Go back and read . Do you realy believe private alternate currency would be a "good" thing ? If so you must be from another planet. Back to Ron Pauls "most profound political movement" . In who's opinion , yours ? Why isn't he showing up in the polls if he is so profound ? It is just amazing how someone can be duped and become followers of conspiracy theories. You have a brain , think for yourself, Don't let others make up your mind !
Sherlock19 Nov 2007 19:11
You say extremist is premature . Read this : -

Here is another article on Yahoo's web page. I rest my case. Could you point us to articles countering these points ?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/uc/200...
Maximus20 Nov 2007 08:01
I actually like a lot of what Ron Paul says, what I don't like are the fanatics who support him. They parade around the internet like he's the second coming and will save the world.

All I was asking in my initial post was some commentary on why EE has started posting frequent Ron Paul articles. Posting blind links like this do nothing because:
a) Most people don't know who Ron Paul is.
b) Without knowing who he is and reading this article it makes him seem a bit odd.

Having some editorial comment on who Ron Paul is and what his views are would be more useful than simply posting links.
Maxim.20 Nov 2007 09:48
RP does a lot of work in conjunction with Lew Rockwell, and it is worth noting the sanity of that man. He holds capitalism accountable to itself, and doesn't turn a blind eye to its injustices like a lot of commentators here are only too eager to do in order to defend their own egos and interests. There may have been a time when gung-ho capitalism had a lot going for it, but looking at the nosediving of the US economy, it's better to reign in on what's left of the US' dowry, and get this isolationist thing happening here.
to S & M20 Nov 2007 20:15
Maximus, information communication is important to let people make up their own minds .. but an editorial perspective on Ron Paul would be interesting !

Sherlock, your perspectives are on the other side, You don't believe anything needs fixing and your sources line you up in the zionist camp hwith the same financiers who funded communism.
Sherlock21 Nov 2007 11:56
Hey Peter, my source is Google not some far extremist web site.
Remember Diaspora . By the way, how is the weather in Canadas capital.

You and Maxim make me laugh. Just apply some logic and one will discover that you have just exposed yourself yet again. Maxim someday you might learn to use some logical thinking.

It is now very obvious that the American Empire is declining rapidly and may go the way of the former Soviet Union. Many Americans are hoarding precious metals and some pessimists are even hoarding food and fuel. Bush has done everything in his power to subvert the constitution and this document may soon be as worthles as that of the old USSR. Bin Laden must be laughing in his cave since his wildest dreams seem to be coming true.

Sherlock,
Ilmastik siin Ottawas on üsna vilets.
Sellest olen hea kooli saanud Estonian Life lehte artikli kirjutamisega. Nagu kirjutasin viimati, mõned asjad muutuvad-mõned mitte.
Kõiki head oma uuringutega.
