After sucking at the Eastern Canadian Teat for decades, Alberta all of a sudden wishes to withdraw from Confederation. Is it because they don't wish to share their wealth? Ontario has been supporting the rest of Canada forever. Now that Alberta might actually have to pony up some of their wealth, they wish to withdraw. Capitalism at its best. Use up the resources and then leave while the getting is still good. To excuse their bad behaviour attack Quebec. This piece of reporting was soo onesided that it is not worthy to call it journalism.

I know that even years ago when I was in Western Canada there was much bitterness there about Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada. Many people in Alberta and BC believed that they were being ripped off and thought that they would be better off as an independent nation. One of the big issues was that they were not getting the world price for oil and that a lot of oil wealth was going into leftist projects like multiculturalism instead of being put into their infastructure.
With overpopulated Ontario becoming a have-not province, we may soon see Western Canadian separatism become a major political issue.

Vaesed toimetajad keda kogu see aeg nuheldakse.
