Lembitu cannot justify spending over ten thousand dollars to bring this band over - when their facilities and programs are crumbling - hence few participants. The money SHOULD be spent elsewhere.

Oh c'mon, in the first place, they should come close to breaking even.

Secondly, Estonian Scouts and Guides in Canada are sitting on over a million - maybe it's time they started spending some of it (like Sihtkapital, a few years ago) on things that are fun and draw people in.

Thirdly, what's your proposal for responsible use of funds?

Come now, brush that chip off your shoulder, step on the gas and put a smile on your face. They will indeed break even.

There was mention in this article about a young boy who joined cubs this year, Lief.
Our community, including scouts and guides and the Esto schools have no fear of an imminent demise when we have youngsters like this just joining the fold. (his parents were born here and have gone through our "system" and young Lief is at least as fluent in the language as are his parents)
Funds should be spent on making all Estonians feel welcome in the community and in joining the organizations that exist. Cheers to Lembitu for their longjevity and for organizing a fun event to celebrate their accomplishments and their committment to making being Estonian in Canada FUN!
Best wishes for a successful event!
