This gas pipeline might be obsolete even before it's built. The economies of gas production are in the midst of a drastic change due to new technology to extract gas from oil shale.
This will weaken the market position of Russia and other gas exporters.
It's good news for the part of the world that's fit for human habitation and, in particular, Estonia.
With low prices in the gas market, Putin will have a hard time financing military adventures. Iran will have a hard time financing terrorism. In other words, low prices will contribute to world peace.
