The plan was taken by the British Chiefs of Staff Committee as militarily unfeasible due to an anticipated 2.5 to 1 superiority in divisions of Soviet land forces in Europe and the Middle East by 1 July, where the conflict was projected to take place.[8] Most of any offensive operation would have been undertaken by American and British forces, as well as Polish forces and up to 10 divisions of the former German Heer (Army), remobilised from POW status.
Tip of the hat20 Aug 2021 09:02
to Markus Hess, who 35 years ago initiated this movement and built it up on a world wide level to be a key reason, [along with President Ronald Reagan], as to why the countries of Eastern Europe were able to escape soviet communism!
Well done organizers!23 Aug 2021 21:41
Thanks to the leaders who made this a national day of remembrance in 2009 and who continue organizing events. Great info here at blackribbonday.org.
Yes!24 Aug 2021 05:52
Thanks to Laas Leivat and others who initiated this and all those who have continued this tradition since 2009! The work you do is amazing!

Laas used to be a harsh critic of authoritarianism and government censorship.

Lately he seems to have lost his critical eye when it comes to matters in Canada.

Since those full page Government of Canada ads began running in Eesti Elu during the COVID pandemic - they seem quiet about Canadian politics.... as you'd expect from a state-funded outlet.
Laas is a true hero24 Aug 2021 12:15
Laas Leivat is a hero who has fearlessly fought for our community for 50 years and still, he has to endure cowardly fringe whack-nut losers who snipe from the anonymity of this creepy 1990s EKRE web platform.

No knock on Laas, but Markus Hess started this.
