0No comments - it is senseless. Here in my Motherland - Novgorod region people still remember Latvian and Estonian SS divisions. Probably they were fighting for democratic Latvia and Estonia - honest members of EU. Author didn't mention it as well as the status judenfrei achieved by Estonia with assistanse of local patriots.

0On July, 1st, 1963 Tunne Kelam has addressed in Tartusky city committee of Communist party of Estonia with the request to accept it in communist party. Kelam there has addressed after without results tried to get to party, having written the application in the primary party organisation of the State Central Historical archive of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic.
In the statement of Kelam wrote: «Now, when I look back in the past, before me inevitably there is one question – why I have not entered in ?????». (????? is an abbreviation from the Lenin Communistic union of youth of Estonia, or Komsomol). «Undoubtedly it is possible to explain it in full or in part house influence (the father was the believer). Whether took me, an event from such family, in general in such organisation? Or the house in arena where opposite views would face would not change then? I did not have an erroneous or bad representation about Komsomol, but at the crucial moment I with the account of all previous remained passive. And only at university I have completely got rid of past influence, having seized bases of clear outlook.» In conclusion of Kelam writes about desire «to bring the feasible contribution to a great cause of building of communism and to belong to the advanced and organised group – the CPSU».
The recommendation to it was given by the teacher of history of the CPSU of Tartusky state university Johannes Kalitsa (Johannes Kalits) which has approved in the recommendation diligent lecturing work of Kelama in the Society of distribution of political and scientific knowledge ????. Thus the party historian has noticed that its ward for six years of work in the Society has spent almost 800 lectures, and has concluded: «Companion Kelam well is guided in questions partijno-political and a world situation, brings up listeners in the spirit of party principles...»

The defendant Kaltenbrunner was a member of the SS implicated in these activities. In dealing with the SS the Tribunal includes all persons who had been officially accepted as members of the SS including the members of the Allgemeine SS, members of the Waffen SS, members of the SS Totenkopf Verbaende and the members of any of the different police forces who were members of the SS. The Tribunal does not include the so-called SS riding units. The Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsfuehrer SS (commonly known as the SD) is dealt with in the Tribunal's Judgment on the Gestapo and SD.
