These are dark times for the Baltics...I don't understand why the majority of people in Russia put up with such arrogant egoism from Putin and his gang.
Aren't they embarrassed for their country and themselves? Don't they understand that their country can't be great with such backwardness and corruption? How can they grow something prosperous out of this? The new era Putin's Russia is doomed to failure...it's like watching an embarrassing B-movie.

Vladimir Putin has changed.
But not enough.
Not enough for the Russians, and not enough for anybody else.
Putin either has to shift gears -- fast -- or get out of the way. Staying the course can only hatch problems that neither the Russians nor the rest of us would ever want to face.

1I don't think he has changed. The problem is that he is too much "the same".
Leaders are changed by the will of the people every 4 years or so for a reason ...to avoid stagnation in action and ideas. This prolonged stay by Putin can only be bad news for the country of Russia.
