She's obviously brainy and pretty.
Can we assume that she also has a tolerable command of the Estonian language?

Dear wondering,
What is YOUR definition of tolerable, and why does it matter so much?

Some people, with Estonian roots, don't believe that fluency in the language has any importance. To them, I must ask, "What do you call an Estonian who can't speak Estonian?"
I call them Estonian.

An Estonian who can't speak Estonian - and says it doesn't matter - can be called many things: (1) a pretender (2) a fake (3) Curious George, perhaps (4) and etc.
CTC,
IMHO your attitude could be part of the problem of apathy within a once vibrant community. Your "nationalistic" attitude hence me titling you an "esto nazi" click the heels, salute and say good night.

I love Estonia and its culture. I visit often. I read the Estonian newspaper. I'm active in our Estonian society.
Curious George thinks that makes me an Estonian Nazi.
I think George is not curious, not Estonian and not entirely sane.

I've been to the isamaa, read&speak the emakeel, go to and support Esto functions. Does that make me an Estonian .... nope it's what's in heart
