2After WWII, when Estonian refuges arrived in Canada, we all anticipated going back soon. For that our parents forced us to preserve our language, with partial success. Some mocked us as DP's; yet, we became inconspicuous citizens; working and obeying the law.
I have no doubt that the current crop of refugees arriving in Estonia from Ukraine will follow that model. As soon as possible, they'll have a job and be speaking Estonian -- quite unlike some Russians who were born in Estonia.

Sama naiivne on Eestis olevatele slaavlastele anda Eesti kodakondsus ja arvata, et nad on eestlased.
