1000 Islands Music Festival Line Up Confirmed

One major artist to be announced this week

The organizers of this year's inaugural 1000 Islands Music Fest are proud to announce the festival is now confirmed, with a lineup of artists totaling over 50 million albums sold, countless award nominations and wins in the Grammy, American Music Award, Juno Awards, MTV and MuchMusic Video Awards to their credit.

This will be one of Ontario's largest music festivals of 2009, The 1000 Islands Music Festival will take place August 13, 14, 15, 2009 at The Dingman Farm located at 15 Pykeview Drive, Gananoque, in Leeds and 1000 Islands Township. The website is www.1000islandsmusicfest.com.

It's expected that The 1000 Islands Music Festival will draw crowds from all over Ontario, Quebec and upper New York State and bring an expected 15,000 new visitors to the region. The festival organizers have assembled a roster of artists that have established world-wide success, and also a great list of Canadian independent and major label recording artists. The location will house two stages; accommodate over 30,000 people, camping for as many as 4,000, with food vendors, 2 beer gardens, and a VIP LLBO tent near the main stage.

The festival kicks off on the evening of Thursday Aug 13th with a celebration of the community. The event will wrap up with a large fireworks display Saturday August 15th.

The confirmed artists, all available for interviews, include: Akon, Simple Plan, Kardinal Offishall, Ten Second Epic, Faber Drive, IllScarlett, Lights, Pilot Speed, Plain White T’s, The Latency, Stereos, NLX, The Joys, Amanda Rheaume, Motion Picture Ending, My Favorite Tragedy, Hello Beautiful, Official Blues Brothers Revue, Ianspotting, Emily Fennell, Graham Greer, Randy and Mr. Lahey (From the Hit Showcase TV Series, The Trailer Park Boys), Ko Kapches, We Are The Take, Irish Descendants, The Warped 45s, The New Cities, The Arkells, The Free Press.

Tickets can be purchased by debit, or credit card at www.ticketbreak.ca or by visiting JCS Computers, or Box Office Entertainment in Gananoque. Tickets will also be available at all Tyroute Telus Locations in Belleville, Kingston, and Gananoque.
Thursday Day Passes: 29.99 + applicable taxes and surcharges
Friday Day Passes: 49.99 + applicable taxes and surcharges
Saturday Day Passes: 89.99 + applicable taxes and surcharges
Weekend Passes: 139.99 + applicable taxes and surcharges
Camping Passes: 20.00 per night or 50.00 per weekend for 2 people.
