"Is it really no to Stalin and yes to Katyn? Not really."
What the heck does this throwaway comment mean?
If any reader wants to better understand what the Soviets exactly did in Poland in 1939,
the following book is a must read.

I really do have to thank “?” for the link to the book [i]Revolution from Abroad[i]… I will buy it.
But I’m bewildered at the tone of his/her comment. Laas obviously shares the view that the Soviet crimes are reprehensible, and the cover-up is even more so. And that recent Russian “remorse” is simply a political gesture (possibly suggested by the PR firm in NYC that the RF has hired).
So what part of Laas’s comment is in your — “?” —
opinion “throwaway”, i.e. meant-for-suckers or otherwise insincere? I am really at a loss… really.

Double negatives water down a message.

Leivat when he is on, is crisp and succinct; the final question and statement are somewhat ambigous.

'Not really' is as clear as a reader wants it be. But i guess one can also be a nitpicking pr..k and and show off. Not really ready to sincerely make any apology for Katyn. Not really ready to condemn Stalin's crimes (Soviet crimes) considering the general popularity he stills enjoys in Russia.
Just a wonderful coincidence for the soviets/russians and european union, or is there something more sinister in play?

Let us have in mind that officers of the Estonian Army were killed just in the same way near the Norilsk in Northen Siberia after occupation of Estonia 1940.
teen koduses nõukogude eestis lahti mõne katõni-teemalise loo ja kommentaarides lähevad paljud ikka kirilitsa peale üle. tore, siin ka, nn väliseestis ehk pagu-laste Eestis käib võõrakeelne möla. kui ei taha enam eesti keelt rääkida, siis ju pole vaja ka ajalugu mäletada, võib aina venelase liitlaste poole saba liputada ja kõiges sakslasi süüdistada. edu.
