ET writes:

"It's hard to believe that Jõekääru's worst enemy is the board of directors of the Estonian Summer Homes Association (ESHA) and its trustees."

And I agree, it is hard to believe, mainly because it is not true. Not even close to true - or having the ring of truth to it or any air or whiff of reality. It is just plain false, wrong and big "S" Stoopit to boot.

Of course some people have no trouble believing blatant falsehoods and tendentiously self-serving half-truths like the rest of ET's tiresome tirade. Some people actually prefer them to the truth - which usually entails hard work, honesty and other similarly inconvenient features as well.

I'm confused, perhaps someone can explain things.

Are Estonians still going to be members of ESHA when the new community organization, JCA, is formed? I understand that ESHA is not winding down. Does that mean non-Estonians will have JCA and Estonians will remain in ESHA. (Two classes of property owners is not a good thing) Or are Estonians expected to join JCA? If so, how will ESHA pay for its landholdings, which it says it cannot afford, if it has no revenue from members. Or are Estonians expected to be in both organizations? Does that mean two AGMs, two membership fees for Estonians to pay? Call me stoopid too, but does it not make more sense to simply have non-Estonians join ESHA. Doesn't that save thousands upon thousands of dollars if we just carry on as we have for the last 60 years.

Please, can someone explain.

I'm tired of Erik Tanner's whining!
Boards of Directors are ELECTED in free, democratic elections by the membership of the organization that they represent.
If you don't like what the Board is doing, elect a new Board at the next elections. If the new Board still doesn't do as you wish, then OBVIOUSLY, YOUR mindset is not the same as the majority.

I like what Erik says in this article.

In 1961, as I remember, Estonians buying property at Joekaaru were told by the Estonian Summer Homes Association and the Naisselts that we Estonians were joint owners of the parklands together with the Estonian childrens camp. On Sunday I was surprised to hear ESHA trustees say that we were never owners of the community lands. In 1961 all Estonians believed that we were community joint owners of the parklands. It was decided at one point that nonEstonians would pay two dollars less in annual fees and they would not be joint owners.
