This is what the future of the global Estonian community looks like! Ha Ha! I'd estimate, going by these photos, that the "leadership" of the entire community has about 5 years of life left in it. And they're talking about the future? Crazy.
Whether these people live for another five years of five minutes makes no difference. They've already made their contribution and will live on in our gratitude. Others will carry their work forward for a similar reward.
You, Maxim de la Trine, are almost as old as these people. Do you contemplate your eventual legacy? Will someone ever stand by your gravestone and say, "he left something good behind."

The "others will carry on their work" part of your otherwise nasty statement is what is worrisome. I don't see any "others." Nor do I see this lot recruiting any "others." We just had an EKN election and yet they are the same old tired faces that I see in these photos. Was it really necissary to spend thousands in airfare for a group of 6 accomplished, yet worn people to go to Eesti for days or weeks to talk about an ESTO that no one really wants? If these people want to cement their legacies and that of their community, they should step aside and allow the future flow.
I have no problem with "these 6 people" attending, their attendance served a valuable purpose. Would you have preferred that not attend? I think not.
On a related topic, I would like to see the EKN leadership keep all its new members up to speed with all their activity, which I hear is not being done yet.
In today's email world, there should be correspondence going out prior to activities to inform them about what will be happening, not after the fact as an afterthought. Otherwise you risk losing these people, the future leaders.

Greetings all! I am here for the first time in 6 months and during my absence I have been following these threads and quietly chuckling to myself at the number of times other people are having to cop the flack from some idiot who thinks every alternate opinion is written by me and should be shot down in flames. What a joke. It only goes to show that the same person who is constantly trying to eliminate Maxim is doing nothing more than shooting him/herself in the foot. What a shame. Indeed- what a loser!
Maxim, we've missed you!
Glad to have you back. Things can now get interesting again.
