Naturally, we have an emotional attachment to Eesti Maja. That should not blind us, however, to the reality that it often costs more money to renovate an old building than it does demolish and re-build.
It would be nice to do so on Broadview, alas; it's not possible because our community has shrunk drasticallly over the decades and will continue to do so.
That the younger generation has lost the ability to speak Estonian is tragic, but understandable. That it's not perceived to be tragic is not!
Self-appointed busi-bodies, like Allan Meiusi, should put as much effort into learning our language as into meddling in Estonian affaires with destructive intent.

Yes, let's face facts.
I for one am not against building elsewhere. However, I am not in favour of building at the present Madison location with all the negatives which only seem worse with every passing day. Main thing for me is absence of a parking lot -- you cannot say that this is not a major drawback for a community centre drawing people, including young families with kids, from the four corners of the GTA and beyond. You can't cross your fingers and just hope that people will show up.
Suggest you find ways to get over your unhealthy and annoying preoccupation with A. Meiusi being a bad influence. We need to know what is going on behind the scenes and keep the players honest and A. Meiusi is doing the homework for us that we do not have the time to do. With a shrinking community, we have less eyes on those moving the levers affecting the future of entire community. I thank A. Meiusi for the sake of our community.

'That should not blind us, however, to the reality that it often costs more money to renovate an old building than it does demolish and re-build.' So, the 4orgs wants to renovate a similar era monks house built to only residential standards. Makes ZERO sense. Your expensive reno and glass box plan has already a $9M shortfall, and this is even before the always unforseen problems that are involved in a construction project.
The Madison proponents are unable to provide anyone with a sound argument for the proposal.
The 4orgs has fast tracked the design of a new project without starting with a community survey on what its needs are and its interest in such a project.
The Esto House board is not even able to hold a meeting and get the shareholders registered promptly.
There is a lack of professionalism on so many levels here. What a shame.
