as for faux news, just because the man that tried to sell secure info vaults in Newfoundland, sees a conspiracy when professionals in financial planning and legal matters tried to prepare for a temporary fix (ie where the ETCU could serve clients while EM was to be rebuilt with the developers) has turned into a blessing in disguise.... for me and the others who are FOR the Estonian Centre.

Today I will share wikipedia meanings for two terminologies:
1) Due Diligence and
2) Pyrrhic Victory

Due Diligence: Due diligence is the investigation or exercise of care that a reasonable business or person is expected to take before entering into an agreement or contract with another party, or an act with a certain standard of care. It can be a legal obligation, but the term will more commonly apply to voluntary investigations.
Pyrrhic Victory: A Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has also taken a heavy toll that negates any true sense of achievement.

Why can't you list them ? Right here and now. Probably can't because Meiusi uses links to documents for any "claim " he makes .This is unlike the pro Madison faction . For example they proudly announced at T.C. that the lead donor was donating $3mil. No mention of the fact that that $ 2 mil of that sum was strictly dependent on matching funds.

Mr. Meiusi's above, so called "article" is full of innuendos probably based on conspiracies that only the naysayers can see, let alone understand.

My recent post of Evi Tarkus' revelations of the condition of EM has been with limited upgrades over the decades shows that the house is and has been in poor condition.

I can't recall Meiusi et al jumping up and down when there was talk of joining up with a developer to raze the entire facility in order to get a few square meters of space???

All he did with Ehatare was cost them additional expense defending against his baseless accusations (being the forensic accountant that he is).

Why doesn't Mr. Meiusi submit his articles to EestiElu in addition to this space? Perhaps they too classify his "cowboy" journalism as .....

The newly formed Tartu College Asset Management Committee (AMC) headed by Jaan Meri (Peeter Einola and Tarmo Lõbu, members) would “follow, evaluate and make recommendations regarding the TC’s financial management and projects . . . .

According to Jaan Meri the AMC finds that “ ‘cash’ is king”. Applying this principle has already brought about savings. He explained at greater length problems related to the parking lot attached to TC, over which a dispute has arisen with the City. Under the terms of the current agreement the City wants to take possession for itself of the parking lot, which could bring it a potential income of $150,000-$200,000. Dealing with this has required hiring lawyers with higher qualifications, which is very expensive. The thing may even go to court.

In addition the AMC recommends getting on with renovating the garage, where there is corrosion. The cost is estimated at $300,000. About the same amount would be required for the recommended renovations of the foyer and main floor office space. Nor has the idea to build VEMU been buried, Mr. Meri showed the sketch.

In discussion Elmar Tampõld explained the problems related to founding the Museum of Estonians Abroad (VEMU), saying „the rug was pulled out from underneath it“, referring to the concern about the parking lot. It is not worth despairing, though, since Mr. Tampõld is working on the fifth variant of this project!“

The ECU press release was signed Board of Directors. Who was on the Board? Who did not/did/should have known the 11 Madison property could not be used for the stated purpose of a branch of the bank nor the stated proposed interim use as rental property? Who was unaware/aware of city bylaws and wrote this press release? Who was the Chair? Where is the decision-making and the accountability?

On page 16 of the May 2018 Due Diligence Report, the Estonian Centre Project Budget includes between $1,563,000 and $1,676,000 for Consultants, along with between $2,296,700 and $2,342,600 for Admin and Marketing.
Holy cow! It appears that the Consultants, Admins, and Marketing folks are being handsomely paid.
When these two Soft Costs are added together, they total between $3.86M and $4.01M - a significant portion of the overall Project Budget.
Are there Audited Financials that show expenditures to date, and can they be shared with Estonian House shareholders? That would go a long way to rebuilding some trust and transparency.
