Slowly, McGuinty and the Liberals are making headway against the morass of mismanagement and ideologically driven confrontational style of politics of the former Conservative government. No wonder the polls are now reflecting this headway. John Tory is much more pragmatic a politician than the Harris crowd and I wish him well, but the fact that the LIberals are beginning to cleaning up much of the disaster the previous Tory government made in its short sighted Education and Health Care cuts is a very good thing. PS before you are critical of the very minor pay increases being handed to teachers, please take a close look at the obscene salaries of business CEO's (often Conservative supporters) who often make huge bonuses even when their businesses and shareholders lose money.
...what nonsense!
why is it that public sector union members have such a sense of entitlement to taxpayers money, while non government employees in today's economic climate are typically absorbing some type of compensation reduction, if not a job loss or layoff ?
Teachers are annoyed when they realize that some earn more than they do and, moreso, when they work for a money-losing corporation. I can empathize. On the other hand, I'm annoyed that our school system gives diplomas to illiterates and, truly, I wonder why. Then, I read a letter from a teacher trying to make a point with earnest passion and hopeless syntax. It's obvious, then, that some of our high school graduates are illiterate because some of their teachers are illiterate.
What virulence against teachers!
Those that criticise most, should try their hand at teaching.
Of course, everyone has been to school and therefore is an expert on the subject of education.

methinks that teachers doth protest too much ... why the ongoing public service militancy for ever increasing wages and benefits, in times when wages are decreasing in the private sector ?
... the golden goose = private sector taxpayers, are slowly being killed off, and may soon become an endangered species
