I humbly endorse the 14th June speech given by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Estonia, Mr Konstantin Provalov. This speech is a turning point in Estonian-Russian relations, and contains much of the kind of sentiment we have been hoping to see from Russia for many years. Now the time has come; there is no room for contradictions. We must take Russian sincerity as being just that-failing to do so only prolongs the pain between our peoples. I applaude Mr Provalov for having the courage to say what he did, and trust his words will not go unnoticed in the Canadian-Estonian community.
What did he say?
The fact that you "humbly endorse it" and (sic.) "applaude" it is of no interest to anyone but yourself.

A humble person is aware of his own limitations. There is no evidence of that here.
I am very aware of my own limitations, which include my inability to write such a brilliant speech as the one under discussion, but that, at least, is compensated by an ability to know what is good and what is not. I encourage you to try to develop the same kind of attitude. You won't regret it.
I just read Provalov's speech-for once a Russian without an attitude problem! Three cheers for Provalov!!!
Hey Maxim , why don't you comment under your own name ? It is just too obvious . 3 minutes after your last comment under your name. I would have thought you were smarter than that, but you prove me wrong. Your pro Russian thinking is very obvious. I would not call call you an Estonian. In my opinion you are a (XXXX) . Why in heavens name should Estonia make amends with Russia. In my opinion it should be the other way around. As long as we have people like yourself in Estonia and ex communists in power, it will be very difficult for Estonia to achieve total democracy. My recommendation to you Maxim , is to visit the Museum of Occupation on the other side of Kaarli Church from your war heros monstrosity. Take your time and learn true history about human suffering. Then go to your church and ask for forgiveness. Peace be with you and I hope you will be saved soon.
It is difficult to change a person with a stubborn attitude, especially one who is not daily in touch with Estonian affairs, such as yourself. However, we all have a right to our opinion, and I´m pleased that you have expressed yours as well. Best wishes to you.
It goes to show how little you know about me. I saw you last week in Tallinn and waved. You chose to ignore me. Let's keep it that way. Did you go to church like I said you should ?
One who has to declare his humbleness is otherwise trapped by his own constant sense of superiority. What phoney and transparently pious bu....it.
I take it that everyone here agrees with Mr Provalov's speech (since he appears he comes off scott free), and you only have qualms about my having brought the subject up in the first place. That, at least, is a step in the right direction.
Why should anyone care that you approve of a speech of unspecified content?
You must have a queer sense of your own importance.

The point is not whether I care or not, it's about whether we can make amends with Russia. It appears that you deliberately wish to tow the argument the wrong way yet again (!) and instead of seeing an opportunity to run with, you see red lights everywhere. Do you want to see Estonian/Russian relations improve or not? It seems to me a lot of people just want to keep pedalling the same old hate campaign for as long as they can keep it going. That's the REAL pity of it all.
Provalov's speech can be read on the internet in Eesti Päevaleht. Should be available from the archives 15th June. Good reading.

Maxim, grow up and get off your self-righteous, I'm Mr Integrity high horse.
Can we take Provalov's speech at face value? If so, why?
