Just a comment on the review by Priit Aruvald, I just wanted to note that (it is McKenzie, not MacKenzie), I am unclear as to the relevance of the point "scholars not of Baltic heritage". This is a concern for me as this is the second (I have been to the last three) AABS conference where someone has come up to me and said "you are not one of us" (which in both cases I determined was based soley on my last name). I believe that the ethnicity of the person is of lesser importance than a demontrated interest in learning more about, studying, or conducting research in and about Estonia or the other Baltic countries (note: my wife's family is Estonian).
Best regards,

I rather thought that Priit mentioned the attendance of non-Balts at the conference as a point of pride, that others than ourselves were also interested in the Baltic States. It was a compliment that you would bother to attend!
...I wonder how many times Priit has had his name misspelled? :)
