CanCon - is not always merelyiller, but part of this country's appeal to all who live here. Even Northern European war refugees :-)

Philatelists may have their own publications, but what has that got to do with this insertion of a Canadian news item in a Canadian outlet? Last I checked EE is Toronto based. Ergo...

Maybe stamp collectors don't kvetch at these gestures like estonians, and this is a Canada Post trial? Seriously, C'mon people. Can't we all live in peace and share the good will? Balance, and reflectionit is good for you!

What's Fluff for you, may be Stuff for someone else :D
I liked it03 Feb 2010 16:26
I actually liked the story and didn't mind it being in Eesti Elu.

What's the big deal? A nice light piece, a nice visual. Critics, pls chill out. If any of you think you can do better, then pls put your money where your mouth is, so to speak.

Before shooting from the hip without thinking, you might want to know why Estonian Life/Eesti Elu must carry a certain portion of their content of non-Esto, Canadian items. Community newspapers' qualify for lower mail rates through this requirement. Mail costs are sometimes so prohibitive, that smaller publishing operations simply cannot survive. Yes, be it "fluff" or a serious piece on tax legislation, Estonian Life must publish some of it.
To The Know-It-All04 Feb 2010 09:43
Yeah, and I'm also a former publisher. This is the web. There are no CanCon requirements for this website.

you have your opinion ...
others have theirs ..
it seems you want to stifle others' freedom to express themselves, like a communist
Huh?04 Feb 2010 20:48
Communist? Where did that come from?
People are voicing their opinions and you're pulling out the "C" bomb to kill debate? Not only is that hypocritical and illogical, it's just plain old f'n crazy.

You figure it out. It's a story about a postmark. An utterly random one at that. It does not belong here. Period.

"... It does not belong here. Period."

very harsh for a neutral topic
in fact it does sound kind of communist

Many Estonians collect stamps.
