Ruth leiab, et tema enda administratiivne töö on väga koormavaks muutunud ja kui Roosi sattus tema alluvusse 4 aastat tagasi, prooviti Roosile osa sellest koormast üle anda. Roosi lõpuks protesteeris. Selle eest Ruth põhiliselt saatis Roosit koju määramatuks ajaks.

3. EAK juhatuse koosolekul üks eriti innukas liige veenis teisi, et määramatu ajast peab saama vallandamine, sest kõik Ehatare töölisi tuleb kohelda samade reeglite järgi, kui keegi on tõrkjas, siis lase lahti... there are no special persons.
Sellised on ainult kuulujutud. Teatavasti kuulujuttudel pole alati palju tegemist reaalsusega.
Kuuldud on ka, et aktsioon on käimas Roosit toetavate palvekirjadele (petitions) ala kirjutada . Seda mina olen teinud. Aga ma toetan EAK-d ka.

What if the current Board resigns or is replaced? Will a new board be functional? Will it demand compensation from former Board members and McFarlane for the legal costs or awards by a Court? Will Ehatare survive?
Who would be to blame? Who would become scapegoat? Personally, I can see no villains here, not EAK, not McFarlane, and certainly not Rosie.
Others know better what the facts and the risks are. But wouldn't restraint and an open mind on all sides for an amicable, creative, and acceptable solution be a better solution than sending things to court? We don't need to enrich lawyers and lose what is dear to us.

I had a parent in Ehatare for many years and observed its daily workings closely. I was satisfied that our old people are well cared for in all respects.
To say that Ehatare's success is due to an irreplaceable employee, who sings, directs a choir and feeds the old folks ice cream, is silly.
Running Ehatare is a big, complex job which can only be accomplished by an experienced and committed team.
Neither side in this dispute -- Rosie nor Ehatare -- have made any public comments. That's by law, not by accident.
Rosie's friends, by contrast, are speaking up. From Estonia, we've heard fom the composer Veljo Tormis, from Norway, the Estonian soprano, Kersti Ala-Murr and so on and on.
Most people protesting this matter have no connection to Ehatare whatsoever.
If this is a case of unjustified dismissal, Rosie can remedy the matter through the Court. If not, she needs a PR campaign to launch a purge of Ehatare management.

Fair enough, there have to be people to wash the floors and do the other unpleasant stuff and they really do deserve respect. And there have to be people to tackle the mountain of regulatory paperwork and run things in general. But as for the quality of life in the institution?, there also has to be a “value added component,” and it appears that Rosie was part of that, a major part, judging from the residents’ open letter (which it appears you simply chose to dismiss).

Actually, looking at the signers of the petition, it reads like a Who’s Who of Toronto Estonian Society. “Astonished observer” herself is becoming more and more astonishing all the time.

Well, Duh?, “Astonished observer” what do you think is happening? But my point is exactly that the expense to both Ehatare and Rosie of not finding a conciliatory outcome before going to court will be extraordinary and unnecessary. Not to even mention such unintentional consequences like forcing an irresponsible change in EAK juhatus, etc.

Since I know both people and Ehatare, I must add my two cents. When one gets old, one becomes attached to kindness, to routine, to happy occasions, and to disrupt this with a dismissal of a favourite person, is paramount to bringing on illness in the form of high blood pressure, worry, anxiety and more. Perhaps unsmiling Ruth could take a few lessons from Roosie and give a chance to concilliatory talks.

My grandfather, and grandmother passed, live(d) at Ehatare. There are so many people that make their final days so special, so many people who provide professional cared for our loved ones and also a Board and administration staff who ensure their safety. Thank you to the Board, administraiton and all the day to day staff. Ehatare is a great place. If a removal of an employee was required, I support the Board who has made Ehatare such a wonderful rest home for so many and for so many years. I hope the defamation of individuals ceases. It does no good and quite frankly is embarassing that some Estonians are having a knee jerk reaction to a situation where the truth probably couldn't be further from what is being circulated.
The "removal of an employee was NOT required", but was done anyway "and quite frankly its embarassing" that you support the Board who has now made Ehatare NOT such a "wonderful rest home". And, yes, let's get at the truth which has been covered up far too long by the administration and the board.

Instead, I wished to comment on a curious situation where a long-term employee, abruptly terminated for unknown reasons, gives rise to a tidal wave of indignation and laudatory commentary in a petition which must have Rosie blushing. Your assertion that petitioners, far and wide, are directly or indirectly connected to Ehatare makes no sense. You sound like President Clinton discussing Monica Lewinski's blow job -- "it depends on what your definition of 'is' is."
If you doubt that pressure was put on choristers to sign for Rosie, speak to the members of Ööbik or Hamilton's Eesti Segakoor.

And that may well be that Toomas Merilo is one popular fellow ! But I do believe that his mother in law was also in Roosi's good care and so he knew of her good work. As well his sister in law may have also signed for the same reason .
No one is pressured to sign - most are relatives of residents who are living there presently or have lived there in the past . Others are those who have worked with her over the years in the Estonian community. God bless them all.
