President Ilves has adopted for himself a part of the government "cheerleader" and the nation's spiritual healer. It is nice, but I would like to see some kind of active political role as well. It seems to be completely absent. Do we need just nice-talking bow tie man giving smooth speeches containing nothing specific, just general positive observations? It is kind of thing we would expect from a man with modern psychology degree: stay positive whatever the reality is. My warning is: such approach can deviate from reality and be self destructive. It is also not characteristic to the Estonian spirit.
Hr. Ilves should be smart enough to realize that if all Estonian citizens could have his income level from taxpayer contributions, that would be the #1 reason for a good life in Estonia.
You have got to be kidding? Ilves left high paying jobs behind to do something great for Estonia. And he delivered. So you want him to earn the same wage as a dishwasher?
He has been waining in his efforts during the past years. Maybe his time has come to move on and pass the baton, but I respect him for what he has achieved.
I also agree with the first comment. I would like to see more political mileage abroad and less pep-talk at home.

Please feel free to correct me by naming the places where T.H. Ilves has worked in the USA or Estonia which have not been on the taxpayers nickel.
Thank you.
Thank you.
