Could someone translate this article into plain English and/or Estonian ?

will the relationship between ekn and sihtkapital be discussed and/or publicized with regard to the latter financially propping up the former? what is the future of the estore, necessary to the community but apparently run as a money losing venture? salaries at ekn should be public, or at least not buried under operating costs so that people guess and gossip. how many $k's per month for the former big cheese, who was the primary estore keeper, was actually paid? donors (children of donors as well, plus the respect for the memories of now deceased principled estonian donors) deserve or at least rate open honest public answers.

"Quo vadis, EKN?? "

This question needed to be asked 20 years ago, when Estonia regained its independence. EKN just stopped functioning, probably since those running the organization couldn't find find their place in the new order.

For many years, EKN has been seen as a make work project for "professional Estonians" in need of gainful employment.

With the change in leadership to Kittask, there seemed to be a sincere attempt on his part to breathe some life into an organization that was lost and wandering with no apparent purpose.

Seems that he ran up against too many obstacles, and I was personally sad to see him throw in the towel.

Now we have Hess at the helm. What has Hess done since he was invoved in setting up Black Ribbon Day, almost 25 years ago?

He has been notably absent from view most of that time. Is he going to energize this organization or is he just in need of an income?

Maybe it's time to recognize that EKN has outlived it's purpose. Sihtkapital has taken the lead, and by a mile.

Smaller organizations usually function more efficiently, and with the National Estonian Foundation (Sihtkapital) at the helm, our community would be better served.
