0We explored this option, but unfortunately Eesti Sihtkapital is not able receive funds and issue tax receipts for this project due to this being a 'capital project'. They are only able to support activities.

0The Malev itself is not a charity, there is however the Skaudi ja Gaidi Fond which is a charity and they are limited to the same constraints that they cannot fund capital projects.
As much as we’d love to - as I know it would make donating more attractive - we are just not able to offer tax receipts.

So, figure out how much you would donate, and how much the tax credit would be worth to you (here's a good calculator: https://www.mackenzieinvestmen... )
Then donate the "After-Tax Cost of Donation" to Pohjakotka and set aside the rest for your taxes - all fair and square plus you support a really, really good cause.

1I would check again with your Charity Lawyer I have been advised that money donated to the (in this case the Scouts) charity can be tax deductible provided the funds are used for their own capital projects and provided they are for long term (10 years +) and not for commercial use. I would challenge your assumption that this project does not qualify. You may be complient with this project after all but the issue may be more that the land does not belong to the same charity..so who actually owns it?
