5Why cut off? I did not say that English, French or Russian should not be taught, only that all education from kindergarten to university should be in Estonian. If higher education is in another language, why would Russians and other linguistic minorities even bother to learn Estonian?

0A few years ago, I visited a McDonald's in Narva. I placed my order in Estonian. No one understood me. They replied in Russian -- I suppose they asked me if I could place my order in Russian. Instead, I placed it in English. "Oh, English we understand. No problem." And I got my meal.

0A few years ago, I was in a Georgian restaurant in Tallinn. The waiter only spoke Russian and basic English. I pretended not to understand and requested service in Estonian. Finally the chef, also a Georgian who spoke excellent Estonian, took my order.

1So here is a waiter just trying to do his job with the linguistic skills the system has left him with. Instead of basic human empathy you choose to be a liar, pretend you don’t understand what he’s saying when you clearly do. Then your ego makes them run around to find someone to speak Estonian to you. The above case sounds more to me like vanity. You sir are the definition of a prick.
