If you have not faxed or E-mailed your letter in support of HCR 116 to your congressperson, Representative Henry Hyde and Speaker of the House of Representatives J. Dennis Hastert or called them, please do it as soon as you can.
Their legislative schedule is extremely busy. The Senate and House have still have to adopt all 13 annual spending bills, approve the Homeland Security Department, set new rules to protect pensions and approve an energy plan. Plus, we can expect that they will devote considerable attention and time to Iraq. All that before departing to campaign for the November 5 election. Their schedule calls for adjournment on October 4.
The longer we procrastinate, delay the less chance there is that HCR 116 will be passed. Therefore, please do it as you possible can.
