Bill Rebane honoured on two continents for his filmwork

The first such event bringing filmaker Bill Rebane once again into the public eye is scheduled to take place in Estonia, where ETV ( Estonian Television ) will broadcast a documentary on Rebane. As of writing no firm broadcast date was available. On April 9-10, reporter Mihkel Kärmas and cameraman Bela visited Wisconsin to interview and videotape Rebane along with his wife and assistant Barbara. The interview covered all of his work career in film and the background of his parents as well as Rebane looking after the first Estonian Lutheran Church in North America, established in Gleason, Wisconsin.

The second such honour will be the retrospective of Bill Rebane’s films to be held at the Orpheum Theatre, 216 State Street, Madison, Wisconsin, 53703 on May 7 - 12 . The festival will feature all of Rebane's low-budget films produced in Wisconsin such as " Giant Spider Invasions ", " The Capture of Bigfoot " and many others. The event will start on Saturday, May 7 at 4 pm with the documentary "Bill Rebane", filmed by Barbara Rebane.
