Naturalized Canadians can be deported, without trial, by Cabinet mandate, in camera, without appeal for wrongs not even proved, just by allegation, "under the likelihood that it happened". This is scary. Even worse, it has just (as of last fall, under Liberal Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Joe Volpe) put Canada into the realm of police state by denying these citizens the conditions under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
This was ostensibly done to prosecute "Nazi" war criminals, who were not able to be prosecuted by the courts. When they were not able to be "prosecuted by the courts". Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal declared a long time ago that all those (Nazis) guilty of war crimes had been brought to justice or had died.
Undoubtedly there were those, who fought on the side of the swastika, who took their duties too enthusiastically, should be brought to trial, so be it but through the machines of the court system.
Sun columnist Peter Worthington noted in his column on May 21, 2006 that Liberal members Andrew Telegdi and Borys Wrzesnewskyj along with NDP critic Bill Siksay were asking Conservative Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Monte Solberg he change the act to befit the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This would be right since the Conservatives supported the changes when they were in opposition. Solberg said now he didn't have time. Worthington suggested Solberg might be out of his depth.
This regulation is very dangerous and we should all do our best in seeing it changed. Right now it is used against war criminals, but it can be used for other purposes as well. This law has mutated Canada into a police state. This law must be changed.

Thanks for the compliment, Maxim. Have you been following the latest news from Canada? Now I can truly say "I told you so" to some of my critics.
I always expect to read a balanced approach to the subject from you Peter, and you lived right up to my highest expectations once again. Pity that there are not more people in Canada who have the capacity to appreciate your lively and extremely fertile intellectual mind!
The writer of this article has forgotten that Canada's extreme left has allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrants into this country who would never have been granted citizenship by previous governments. As the worldwide Islamic insurgency spreads and reaches Canada it is possible that large numbers of radicals who should never have been given Canadian citizenship will have to be deported. This regulation is a lot less dangerous than the alternative, a Taliban insurgency in Canada.
