There is now 255 million euros of euro cash in circulation compared to 250 million euros worth of kroons, the Bank of Estonia said on January 10.
Starting on December 27, the central bank has retrieved 193 million euros worth of kroons. As late as last September, the worth of kroon currency in circulation still exceeded 570 million euros.
A total of 225 million euros worth of euro bank notes and 30 million euros worth of euro coins have been issued by the central bank.
