Elin Raun to examine the return of Estonia's Diaspora with Fulbright Award (2)

Elin P. Raun, a 2004 graduate of DePauw University, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student scholarship. The grant will allow Raun -- who also earned a masters degree in modern European history from the University of Oxford (Magdalen College) in 2006 -- to travel to Estonia during the 2008-09 academic year to conduct research in the field of Estonian diaspora studies. Her project is entitled, "The Return of Estonia's Diaspora."

I don't believe that a historian would have much interest in you, Maxim. Steer clear of psychiatrists, on the other hand, because they'd love to tie you up (literally) for a long time.

It's touchy subject, and I think I'll pass on being one of Raun's guinea pigs, since there is already too much trouble between Estonian communities here and abroad. The easiest way to bridge any gaps is to build more Orthodox churches, since to Orthodox faith is historically very important to Estonia and Russia, and is therefore a perfect bridge builder in difficult times. There is one other benefit; and that is that there are no Freemasons in the Orthodox priesthood, as they generally stick to what they do best-liturgy and sheperding people, not being some sort of vice buffoning its way to the top echelons of society, sustained only by its own self-serving interests.
