16 Sep 2003 EWR Online
TORONTO, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - In light of recent weather reports on the path of Hurricane Isabel, Dr. James Young, Ontario Commissioner of Public Safety and Security, has indicated that Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) continues
to monitor activities and has contingency plans for any threats to public safety that may emerge. Dr. Young also provided Ernie Eves, Ontario's Premier, and members of his security Cabinet with a briefing on the status of Hurricane
Isabel and EMO preparedness via teleconference today.
Hurricane Isabel is weakening, and remnants of the hurricane may be felt in parts of Ontario by Friday. Ontario residents are advised to take any necessary precautions to prepare for heavy rain and strong winds.
