BRITISH COLUMBIA
May 30, European Festival, Burnaby, Scandinavian Centre (www.eurofestbc.ca). Starts at 10am. The Estonians are performing at 4pm (Estonia Kilplased Dance Group, Keerutajad Dance Group & Leelo Choir)! Come out and cheer for them! Admission $7.00.

ONTARIO
May 28, Tribute to Liberty Spring Party, 6:30 pm at The Paddock, 178 Bathurst St, Toronto. Learn more about the project to build a memorial in Ottawa in memory of the Victims of the Crimes of Communism.

QUEBEC
May 29, film "The Singing Revolution", Montreal Estonian Pensioners Club. Starts at 1pm.

ALBERTA
June 20, St John's Day celebration at Linda Hall, Stettler, Alberta, marking 110 years the establishment of the first Estonian settlements at Sylvan Lake. Games for children and adults, hayride, flag raising ceremony, bonfire, fireworks, songs and dance. Registration deadline June 1, 2009. Info: . June14, EKUK Remembrance of the Deportation of Estonians from Estonia/Küüditamine, Meie Kodu hall. Starts at 1.30pm.

June 14, Church ceremony in remembrance of the Deportation of Estonians from Estonia, St Peter's Church, Vancouver. Performing: Maris Lend, flute, followed by a social gathering and CD presentation. Info www.eelk.ee/vancouver

June 10, Reading theater "Ilutuli" presents a literative-musical memorial program: HARRI ASI "After the Explosion", Tartu College, Toronto. Starts at 7pm. Admission $15.00.

June 13 - 14, the Estonian Summer Festival at Seedrioru (http://www.seedrioru.com/pages.... The program includes a volleyball tournament, a wife-carrying contest, opening ceremonies (keynote by Markus Hess), choirs, a bonfire, Walter Mätas and "The Big Chill". June 14, Church Ceremony in remebrance of the Deportation of Estonians from Estonia, ceremony at Toronto St. Peter's Church. Starts at 1pm.

ESTDOCS filmfestival has announced a short film competition with the theme "Eestlase Rõõm"/"The Joy of an Estonian". The main prize $2500. Deadline for submissions Sept 9, 2009.
