The National Arts Centre in Ottawa has announced that Estonian conductor Eri Klas will be returning to conduct the NAC Orchestra on January 18 and 19. Contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux will be featured. The NAC website (www.nac-cna.ca) notes that they "immediately re-booked conductor Eri Klas after his triumphant performance of Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony in January 2006. He returns to the Southam Hall stage with more Russian delights, including the evocative Winter Dreams symphony."

The concerts will also see performances of Haydn's Symphony No. 52 and Mahler's Rückert Lieder. Both concerts will begin at 8:00pm

Enhance your musical experience with a free Pre-Concert Talk at 19:00 in the NAC "Mahler" speaker: CBC National Music Producer Jill LaForty (in English)
