On May 25th the Estonian minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts gave a speech at the event of handing over Ericsson´s new generation base station.
Parts acknowledged Ericsson for creating new jobs in Estonia and enlivening country´s export. Minister added that not only did Ericsson bring here the production of its new generation telecommunication devices but brought along job opportunities for several logistics and transportation companies.
“The presence of such an acknowledged global enterprise as Ericsson gives Estonian small and middle-sized businesses a great opportunity to develop and offer services which could expand its reach worldwide,” said Parts.
Ericsson´s Tallinn-based factory started the preparations for the production of new generation broadband devices in August 2009. The installation and testing of new lines has already been done.
The event marked the first new generation base station produced in Ericsson´s Tallinn-based factory being handed over to EMT.
