Georgian Peaks with view of Georgian Bay
This year’s annual Esto Ski Day at Georgian Peaks is scheduled on Valentine’s Day - Friday, February 14, 2014. Events include a day of fabulous skiing for family and friends with no lift-lines, a fun race followed by an awards-ceremony leading to a sweetheart of a get-together at Heavenly Sweets Café. There are also cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails: Georgian Trail runs in front of the club; and for a panoramic view, the Bruce Trail runs along the top of the escarpment at the club.
A $5 lift ticket for Champlain is available at the Main Lodge to get you to the upper trail. For the hardier bunch, you can hike or snowshoe up beside the Champlain ski run and take the lift back down!
Lift tickets are a discounted $38.00 for adults and $30.00 for children under 10. All participants pay for their lift tickets individually. Please purchase tickets from the main lodge, registering under “Esto Ski Day” and if participating in the fun race, your waiver form. The lifts open at 9 a.m.
Part of the WEST LODGE has been reserved for our exclusive use for the day - with a fireplace, bar and cafeteria style restaurant.
Downhill equipment and snowshoe rentals are available at Slalom Gate, across from the main lodge of Georgian Peaks. You can reserve ahead of time by telephone (519) 599-3244, or email: .
The fun race is for all ages at a basic gate level, best time of two runs. Please register for the race at the front desk when buying your lift tickets, providing the participant’s name, age and specify skier/snowboarder. The race starts at 10:30 AM. The awards ceremony for the fun race will take place at the WEST LODGE in our designated area at the end of the ski day.
Heavenly Sweets Café (705-444-2005) is located at 48 Pine Street, 1 block west of Hurontario Street in downtown Collingwood across from Loblaws. Come and join us for dinner at 7:00 PM and/or just for drinks. A buffet style dinner on this Valentine’s Day will be $14 consisting of all-you-can-eat chili (either meat or vegetarian), salad and garlic bread. Good food, music and company will go on into the night.
