In an interview, Minister of Finance Jürgen Ligi said Estonia did not join the Eurozone to be its poorest member, but to bring a new attitude to the Eurozone's fiscal policies.
"Estonia will join the Eurozone's elite [members]. [Everyone knows] that we have been poor and that our history has been such,“ the finance minister told ETV. "[But] ours is the most respectable commitment to the Eurozone's fiscal policy. We bring a new attitude that only three or four counties currently have."
