The number of Ukrainian war refugees in Estonia is approaching 50,000 people. Last week, additional 1,965 Ukrainian citizens arrived across the border, 373 of whom were children.
927 of those who arrived were in transit, meaning they want to go on from Estonia, according to the statistics of the Police and Border Guard Board.
According to PPA data, Estonia has received 48,772 Ukrainian war refugees since February 27. Temporary protection applications have been registered for a total of 31,512 refugees.
833 Ukrainian families have started renting a permanent place of residence with the help of the state. The Social Insurance Board and municipalities have paid war refugees a one-time allowance for renting a residence, the maximum amount of which is 1,200 euros.
