After the national harmonization/relaxation of restrictions by the new Reform-Center coalition government, Estonia has risen to being one of the top countries in the European Union.

Estonia's position in the European Union's coronavirus infection table speaks for itself: it has now risen to fifth place in terms of 14-day cases per 100,000 inhabitants:
1. Portugal 1190
2. Czech Republic 914
3. Spain 843
4. Slovenia 762
5. Estonia 569
EU average 359

The current findings of the weekly wastewater survey of the University of Tartu also show rising high levels of the virus almost everywhere in Estonia.

One of the first acts of the new government was to harmonize restrictions all over Estonia, including in Harju County and Ida-Viru County, towards significant relaxation - eating and partying places were reopened, group training and yoga classes were given the green light again. Estonia has now the most lenient coronavirus restrictions in Europe. Based on the statistics, several countries have started to put Estonia on the entry blacklist again.

Estonia's main goal is still to vaccinate the elderly and people at risk first, however, vaccination is currently hampered by a shortage of vaccines, especially in the European Union. However, new vaccines are reportedly coming in next few weeks.
