The annual change of the consumer price index was mainly influenced by the 9.7% price increase of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which gave two fifths of the total increase. Also by the 6.2% price increase of electricity, heat energy and heating, and the 12.2% price increase of motor fuel, which both added another fifth to the total increase.
In 2011 compared to the average of the previous year, coffee was 45% and sugar 43% more expensive. In spite of the price decreases at the end of the year, potatoes remained 34% more expensive than in 2010. But eggs were 9.4% cheaper.
