Estonia's district court has sentenced dual Estonian-Russian citizen living in border town of Pskov, Vladimir Šilov, to a prison term for trying to smuggle three drones for Pskov paratroopers fighting in Ukraine, reported Delfi yesterday.

The prosecutors successfully argued that the purchase of drones could be considered as support for an act of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The crime is punishable by up to five years in prison under Estonian legislation.

"Illegal support can be, for example, money or other material assistance that is used to support Russian aggression in Ukraine," said Harrys Puusepp, the director of the Security Police Bureau of Estonia.

The court sentenced Šilov, 43, to a year in prison. Four months of this sentence will be a real prison term, remaining eight months will be suspended with four years of probation.
