Nine of the most dynamic and forward-thinking Estonian entrepreneurs traveled to the U.S. today for a nine-day visit under the auspices of the Department of State's Voluntary Visitor Program. Embassy Tallinn routinely coordinates trips for current and emerging economic and political leaders to meet and confer with professional counterparts throughout the U.S.
The program also allows visitors an opportunity to gain a broader view of American culture and society. The entrepreneurial spirit is a cornerstone of American Society; having weathered the recent economic downturn, it is alive and well in both of our nations. By participating in this program Estonians, and their counterparts in the United States, are strengthening the personal and productive bonds that exist between our nations. This time, our Estonian visitors come primarily from the information technology sector, a key area for economic growth in both Estonia and the U.S. The diverse group also comes from cities and regions throughout the country.
