Estonian government sets 2002 immigration quota at 665

The Estonian government set this year's immigration quota at 665 persons. Last year the quota was 684 persons. According to the aliens law, the annual immigration quota in a year must not exceed 0.05 percent of the country's population. As of November 1, 2001 Estonia had 1,330,841 permanent residents, including 1,115,000 citizens and 215,841 aliens holding residence permits.
