Laura Ezzat, who works at the Estonian Consulate in the United Arab Emirates, won the camel race in Dubai over the weekend. Competitors from 18 countries took part in the competition for foreigners living in the United Arab Emirates. Ezzat covered a 1.2-kilometer distance on a camel in 2 minutes and 27 seconds.
She was closely followed by Chinese businesswoman Xiaozhe Huo with a time of 2.30 minutes. Coming in third place in the very tightly-contested race was German national Emilia Piesker with a time of 2.35 minutes.
Ezzat expressed her happiness in winning the race and said: “It was such an honour and privilege to take part in the race, which saw participants from various countries. We are also happy that we are part of the celebrations of the UAE’s 50th National Day.”
