Every year the provincial Pistol Championships are held on the July long weekend. For the past several years they have been held in London and the Toronto Estonian Rifle and Pistol Club manages to field a team of competitors. The range in London is an outdoor facility large enough to handle an event of this size. Fortunately this year the weather cooperated – it was sunny, but not too hot.

Markus Alliksaar and Lembitu Ristsoo represented the Toronto Estonian shooting community this year. Shooting against so many top shooters is always an intimidating task, but they both managed to squeeze out high placings in several shooting disciplines.

Lembitu came in first in the tyro class of Standard Pistol with a score of 468 out of 600 and third in the marksman class of Centerfire Pistol with a score of 506 out of 600. Markus came in first in the sharpshooter class of the Canadian 1800 with a score of 1545 out of 1800 and first in the sharpshooter class of the NRA 2700 with a score of 2271 out of 2700.

Hopefully our club will be able to send an even larger team next year.
