Estos have always gathered in Collingwood – to ski and/or fish! (1)

Over 80 Estonians including their friends and families gathered at Georgian Peaks Resort in Collingwood on February 17th for the 21st annual Eesti suusapäev / Esto Ski Day. The event was initiated in 1991 as korporatsioon Vironia (fraternity's) family ski day by the late Tõnu Toome. Now his brother Peeter Toome (on the left in the photo) along with Tõnu's son Mihkel (Mikk) Toome continue to do a great job of organising the popular event. This year's best/fastest female racer was Amanda Hannus (see last week's Estonian language edition) and the fastest male racer was Paul Veer, seen here on the right.
