Hjalmar Kuld
Hjalmar Kuld sündis Saaremaal 21. jaanuaril 1921 aastal. Ta suri 29. juunil 2011 Torontos peale väga lühikest südame haigust.
Hjalmar põgenes eestist sõja-ajal ja elas mõned aastad Rootsis. Seejärel tuli kanadasse koos abikaasa Salmega (Meius). Kanadas seadsid oma elu teele ja sündised kaks poega, Arvo (Hedy-Ann Tammerk) ja Heikki (Ivi-Lee Laikve). Oma kallist ja imetore vanaisa mälestavad lapselapsed Talvi, Silvi, Erik, Mati, Kristian ja Kiiri.
Hjalmar Kuld oli kauaaegne aktiivne Toronto eesti seltskonna ja kiriku liige. Ta oli eriti eeskujulik tore eestimeelne mees, kes oli alati igaühele abivalmis ja täitis oma kohustusi ausalt ja alati hea meelega. Tema omaksetel ja tema paljudel sõpradel on temast suur puudus.
Külastus toimub 4. juulil 2011 7-9 p.l. Newbigging Funeral Home´is. Matused 5. juulil 2011 kell 11 hommikul Vana Andrese Kirikus. Järgneb ära saatmine York Cemetery surnuaias. Toimub vastuvõtt (teadetes) Eesti Maja kohvikus.

Toronto, ON - It is with great sadness that the family of Hjalmar Kuld announce his passing early on Wednesday June 29, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Salme (Meius). He was the loving father of Arvo (Hedy-Ann Tammerk) and Heikki (Ivi-Lee Laikve). He adored, and was adored by, his six grandchildren Talvi, Silvi, Erik, Mati, Kristian and Kiiri. Born in Saaremaa, Estonia, he married his wife in Sweden before immigrating to Canada in 1949. Hjalmar was an active member of the Estonian community and a talented carpenter. He contributed his energy and resources to many Estonian organizations including children's scout and summer camps in Ontario. He and his family have been members of the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Toronto where he was an avid and enthusiastic long-time member of the congregation. Hjalmar was a selfless, generous man and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Visitation will be from 7-9 pm July 4, 2011 at Newbigging Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at St. Andrew's Estonian Church (Jarvis and Carlton) at 11:00. Burial will follow at YorkCemetery with reception to follow at the Estonian House. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
