Hockey is very much a part of growing up in Canada. Our paper has recently noted the achievements of Estonian- Canadian youngsters on the ice. Add Kevin Entmaa, goaltender for the Halton AAA atom Hurricanes to that list. Milton’s Entmaa backstopped his team to a gold medal at the Ontario Minor Hockey association championships in late March. His achievements were prominently noted in the April 1st edition of “The Canadian Champion”.

Entmaa’s name may be familiar to the older generations. His father Raimond Entmaa was a top Canadian swimmer in the 1970’s and still holds the records for Estonians abroad for 200 and 400 m. medley. Grandfather Kalju Entmaa was a footballer in the 1950’s with the very successful Kalev Football Club Estonia based in Toronto.
