The deadline for applications is January 15, 2007.
The scholarship for one semester is 40 000 EEK. The scholarship is granted for up to two semesters. It is designated to cover subsistence expenses, tuition fees and costs directly connected with the research. Knowledge of Estonian is an advantage but not a requirement.
The scholarship is granted by the Council of Academic Studies of Estonian Language and Culture Abroad, involving experts when necessary. The scholarship is financed by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and administered by the Estonian Institute.
Applying for scholarship
The following documents should be presented when applying for the scholarship:
• The completed application form
• CV
• Certificate proving the applicant’s status as an MA/PhD student or a copy of a document proving his or her PhD degree
• Plan of research
• Written confirmation from an Estonian research or development institution to receive the applicant
• For MA and PhD students a recommendation from their research supervisor
The applications must arrive at the secretariat of the Council at the Estonian Institute, Suur-Karja 14, 10140 Tallinn at the latest by January 15, 2007. Envelopes should be marked with the word ‘Estophilus’.
