TORONTO, July 29 /CNW/ - The biggest challenge for the public, concert
organizers and the TTC will be the exit from the Rolling Stones concert on
Wednesday night.
The TTC has subway and bus capacity to carry 50,000 people per hour away
from the Downsview site. That number will be further reduced by passengers
carrying cooler bags, knapsacks and other items.
"If 400,000 people try to exit by TTC at one location, you can expect
many hours of wait time," said TTC Chief General Manager Rick Ducharme.
"People should be prepared to walk home if they live within one or two hours
from Downsview Park, or along Sheppard Avenue to the Sheppard-Yonge Station or
south on Allen Road to Yorkdale, Lawrence West or Eglinton West stations."
