According to the latest
Eurostat's estimate, Estonia's annual inflation rate rose to 19 percent in April. This is the fastest rate amoung the countries that use euro. In the euro area as a whole, prices rose by 7.5 per cent year-on-year in April.
Energy prices rose the most - by 44 per cent - while in other categories the rise was more modest, but prices rose in all categories overall.
The 19% inflation in Estonia was followed by Lithuania with 16.6 per cent and Latvia with 13.2 per cent. Compared to March, the price growth in Estonia was 4.1 percent in April, 2.5 percent in Latvia and 1.9 percent in Lithuania.
According to the estimate, prices rose by 7.8 percent year-on-year in Germany and 5.4 percent in France.
